Dog Training FAQ

I have two big dogs.. one a german shepherd/lab mix and a rottweiler/lab... they are both babies under a year old. I take them both on walks. I have to jerk on the rope to get them to slow down and behave and they mind. How do I get them to not be distracted when walking?
