Dog Training Obedience

Dog Training Obedience
Part of the responsibility of being a dog owner is proper obedience training. An obedience trained dog is a pleasure to be around, while an untrained dog is a nuisance to his owners and to any people he comes in contact with. Every dog should know at minimum the following behaviors: sit, lie down, stay, come when called, and walk on a loose leash, and break.

With any behavior you teach your dog there is normal cycle that you go through from start to trained. You will begin by showing the dog what you want by helping him and using motivation. Once the dog has a concept of the behavior you can then utilize compulsion, or corrections, to finish the training behavior. By employing these principles correctly, you teach your dog that it is fun to obey but also, that he must obey.

The following are the necessary dog training commands that every dog must know. Each command will have a brief section on the dog training obedience procedures for each command.

Training the 'Sit'
The sit command is the least functional of the dog training obedience behaviors. While less useful, a dog can not be considered trained if he hasnt mastered this command.
